Applications flowing in for Netball Association post

Applications have started to flow in for the post of International Technical Director of the Barbados Netball Association (BNA).

Confirmation from the new President of the BNA, Dr. Carmeta Douglin, less than 24 hours after the position was advertised and 11 days before the deadline.

Speaking to CBC Sports, the veteran netball umpire, who took over the helm in December, says the individual will be in place by next month. They will be tasked with delivering coaching education and preparing national junior and senior teams.

The senior Gems have some major assignments this year, including the Netball World Cup in South Africa in July, and the Technical Director will work with shooting, mid-court and defensive coaches to whip the squad into shape.

Additionally, the senior Gems, who are ranked 14th in the world, have opted to invite seventh-ranked Uganda for a series in preparation for the World Cup.
