As Barbados joins the globe in marking World Pharmacists Day, there’s been a call to make continuing education for pharmacists mandatory.
Past President of the Barbados Pharmaceutical Society Derek Catlyn says his vision for the sector includes mentorship of the next generation of pharmacists to ensure the continuation of high standards.
He also wants a focus to be placed on increasing the health literacy of average Barbadians.
Mr. Catlyn, a pharmacist with over 20 years experience in the area, says continuing education for pharmacists has key benefits for the profession.
