It’s all square at one-all between Barbados and Indonesia in their Davis Cup World Group Two first round tie at the National Tennis Centre in Wildey.
Darian King got Barbados off to a great start by dispatching Gunawan Trismuwantara 6-1, 6-1 in the first singles match today that finished in just 54 minutes.
However the visitors struck back in the second singles match after Justin Barki got the better of Kaipo Marshall in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in a match that lasted one hour and 31 minutes.
Marshall struggled with his serve in the contest committing 10 double faults, while his opponent sent down five aces and converted three of six break point opportunities.
The two teams will now switch to the doubles action tomorrow, where Darian King will team up with Barbados’ number two Haydn Lewis to take on Barki and Febi Widiyanto starting at 10:00 a.m.
The reverse singles are to be played after the doubles.
