Some vaccinated Barbadians may have to look forward to a COVID-19 booster shot in the months ahead, especially those who are considered most at risk.
In the US the CDC – the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention – officially recommended a third dose of an mRNA vaccine for immunocompromised Americans.
This will allow seven million Americans who didn’t get an optimal immune response to their initial vaccine doses of Pfizer or Moderna to gain more protection.
Giving her take on the possibility of booster shots for people here, is Emergency Room Physician Dr. Hilary Moore.
She tells the Morning Report the booster shot will be a much needed defence for variants of COVID-19.
