Parents and guardians of students of the Frederick Smith Secondary School, Trents, St. James, are advised that the school will be closed for all students, tomorrow, Friday, March 10, 2023.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) revealed that the school was closed early today due to a shortage of teaching staff.
It says senior Ministry officials held an emergency meeting this morning with executive members of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT).
The Ministry notes there will be a follow up meeting tomorrow with all staff to discuss issues highlighted by the BUT, and it is expected that school will resume on Monday, March 13, 2023.
