The House of Assembly this morning postponed its sitting until next week, as a sign of respect following the death of former Prime Minister Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford.
Acting Prime Minister, Santia Bradshaw, made the announcement before the House got down to its formal business.
Barbados is currently observing three days of national mourning for the country’s fourth Prime Minister.
Ms. Bradshaw revealed she met with Sir Lloyd’s wife and two children yesterday, where she expressed condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Barbados.
She also confirmed the House would formally pay tribute to the late Prime Minister at a later date.
