The Royals are guaranteed of finishing last in the 2021 Hero CPL after the St. Lucia Kings defeated the Barbados franchise by 15 runs via the DLS method today.
Sent into bat the Kings racked up 175-6 off their 20 overs led by Captain Faf du Plessis with 84 off 54 balls and Tim David with 34.
Mohammad Amir took 2-31.
In reply the Royals set a revised target of 170 from 19 overs, but were held to 155-8.
David Wiese snapped up 5-25 to leave the Royals on four points with one match to play and no chance of making the playoffs.
Meanwhile in the second fixture of the day, the Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated the Tallawahs by 46 runs after making 169 for six with Nicholas Pooran getting 75, the Tallawahs 123.
