BAMP releases statement in light of increasing cases

September 11th, 2021

The Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) is pleading with Barbadians to take note of the steadily increasing cases of COVID-19 on the island.

Health officials disclosed that 108 new cases of the viral illness were diagnosed on Thursday, while a 66 year old woman died in primary isolation at the Harrison Point Facility.

President, Dr. Lynda Williams says BAMP is not surprised by the growing numbers, because it was predicted by the University of the West Indies’ models.

In a brief message released on social media, Dr. Williams pleaded with Barbadians get vaccinated and help to reduce the amount of transmission within society.

She has also asked people to be mindful of the health care workers and others who are making a significant sacrifice to be part of the COVID fight.
