West Indies captain Jason Holder will take no part in the second Test against New Zealand starting Saturday, after he was suspended by the International Cricket Council for a second minor over-rate offence.

The ICC announced Tuesday that West Indies had been hit by a slow over-rate penalty after being adjudged to be three overs short of their target during the opening Test which the Windies lost by an innings and 67 runs in four days on Monday.

While the players were fined 30 per cent of their match fee, Holder as captain was hit with a 60 per cent fine.

The 26-year-old all-rounder also had a similar offence during the opening Test against Pakistan in Jamaica last April, meaning the current one was his second within a 12-month period.
