Two Christ Church residents are appearing in court Tuesday to answer drug charges.
They are 36-year-old Antoinette Cyrillene Thomas of McClean Road, Silver Sands and 50-year-old Roger Orlando Holder of Apt 3, number 852 Kingsland Crescent.
Last Saturday, Thomas and Holder arrived on the island by air from Canada. Thomas was traveling with her two daughters ages 16 years and 10 months.
Customs searched their luggage and found eighteen transparent vacuum-sealed packages, each containing cannabis concealed in false bottoms of two suitcases.
Twelve packages were in one suitcase which bore Thomas' daughter's name and six packages in a suitcase which bore her name.
The total weight of the cannabis in Thomas' possession was 9.5 kilos with an estimated street value of seventy thousand Barbados dollars.
Meanwhile customs also searched Holders' luggage and found twelve sealed packages each containing cannabis, concealed in a false bottom of two suitcases.
Holder was subsequently arrested and charged.
The total weight of cannabis in his possession was 6.3 kilos with an estimated street value of fifty thousand, four hundred Barbados dollars.
Thomas and Holder were separately charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and the importation of cannabis.
