Barbados won 6 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, as the singles competition came to an end Tuesday night in the 2018 Junior Caribbean Squash Championships in Jamaica.
Securing her first regional title on her first appearance at the championships was Phoebe Gittens in the girls under-11 category.
Gittens swept away Christiana Fernandes of Guyana in three games, 11-3, 12-10, 11-2 to take the title.
Then in the girls under-15 final, Sumairaa Suleman got by Abosaide Cadogan also of Guyana 11-1, 5-11, 5-11, 11-4, 11-9.
Barbados' four consistent seasoned champions lived up to expectations and claimed titles in their respective categories.
Meagan Best in the girls under-17, took down Jade Pitcairn of Cayman Islands at love, four and six.
Khamal Cumberbatch won the boys under-17 title after defeating Taylor Carrick of Bermuda at seven, four and three.
Amanda Haywood topped the girls under-19 against Alexandria Yearwood of Trinidad and Tobago at five, seven and three.
And in the boys under-19, Josiah Griffith also served Jonathan Walker of Jamaica a 3-0 defeat, at seven, eight and three.
The team competition commences Wednesday.
