Government has signaled its commitment to the arts.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley pledged her support for artists during the opening of the art exhibition entitled, The Arrrivants - Art and Migration in the Anglophone Caribbean World at the Barbados Museum.
Prime Minister Mottley says Barbados and the region have a story to tell.
The exhibition was organized to coincide with the International Museums Conference which is being hosted in Barbados by the University of the West Indies and the Museums Association of the Caribbean.
Curators say the title is an acknowledgement of writer Kamau Brathwaite, and his work -- covering migration and the Caribbean diaspora.
