Greater emphasis is being placed on improving the environmental state of schools across the country.
This time the focus was on re-tiling the floors of several classrooms of the Arthur Smith Primary School.
The project was a donation by the Rotary Club of Barbados South, and President Hiranand Thani says he was instantly moved to help, after learning of the school's plight.
Mr. Thani joined several other Rotarians, including District Governor Waddy Sowma, for a tour of the remodeled classrooms.
The project, which cost close to $40,000, was completed in 3 weeks, just before school resumed in September.
Principal Jennifer Hoyte expressed gratitude to the representatives, for making the environment one that is more conducive to learning.
