Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite is defending the country's status as a standard bearer for good governance and low corruption.

He was addressing distinguished guests at the Sir Winston Scott Memorial Lecture.

The Attorney General's comments come amid suggestions from at least one opposition Member of Parliament that corruption in Barbados had reached unprecedented levels.

He says Barbados scores at a very high level in these areas and maintains the country continues to uphold democracy and good governance.
