The Attorney General is not at all pleased with the number of people charged with murder who are out on bail.

He highlighted his concern in Parliament during the second reading of the Criminal Records Rehabilitation of Offenders Amendment Bill, 2017.

Of equal concern to Adriel Brathwaite, the large number of people facing gun related charges and sexual offenses.

Mr Brathwaite again pushed for employers to give ex-offenders a second chance.

He says many are facing hurdles as they seek to reintegrate into society.

Former Attorney General and opposition MP for St Joseph, Dale Marshall agrees that some ex-offenders are being held back by their criminal records.

He says the Barbados Labour Party in its first term in office in 1999 brought significant pieces of legislation to address this.
