Over six hundred Barbadians are now full time employees at Sandals Royal Resort.

It’s the beginning of a project that's expected to take Barbados' tourism product to another level.

That means more jobs for Barbadians.

The luxury resort is spread across fourteen acres on Maxwell beach and offers an abundance of amenities from rooftop bars and swimming pools to top-of-the-line restaurants.

Also included is the Lovers' Lane bowling alley.

Sales Manager Dayna Gilbert says patrons at the adjacent Sandals Barbados are also invited to enjoy the amenities at Sandals Royal, and locals are always welcome. In fact packages are designed just for them

The general manager also cautioned Barbadians to ensure the country does everything possible to maintain its appeal.

Mr Zievinger says plans to expand, with an even bigger Beaches by Sandals resort just north of Speightstown on the grounds of the former Almond Bay resort, are underway.

General manager Fernand Zievinger says meetings have taken place in relation to the construction and plans are moving forward swiftly, and that they hope to break ground near the end of next year.
