The level of productivity in the private sector continues to be higher than in the public sector, but there is a major reason for this.
Chief executive officer of the National Initiative for Service Excellence Kim Tudor says looking back on 2016 at least forty percent of civil servants indicated that they simply did not have the resources to adequately carry out their jobs.
The study however showed that workers in the public service love their jobs more than those in the private sector.
Ms. Tudor who was a guest on the CBC Evening News Thursday night, says between 2011 and 2016 Barbados saw a marked reduction in productivity.
She says with close to eighty percent of Barbadians being diagnosed with at least one chronic non-communicable disease, health is making a big impact.
