It’s day two of industrial action by the National Union of Public Workers.
The NUPW called for two days of protest following government’s failure to respond to its January fifteenth deadline for wage talks to commence on a twenty-three percent increase for public workers.
Thursday a check with several government departments revealed that the industrial action had little impact on operations.
The NUPW has so far not commented on whether the action has been successful.
In light of the current industrial action, the Barbados Nurses Association is making its position clear.
President, Joanna Waterman says nurses will continue to sit at the bargaining table with government to pursue salary increases which are long overdue.
