The Royal Barbados Police Force is considering the implementation of electronic monitoring devices to keep track of sexual offenders on the island.
Livingston Eversley, Superintendent of Police said that in future he thinks that this would be an effective measure to take.
Mr. Eversley said that once police are aware of the location of these criminals, they can increase security in the area, especially around schools.
The officer went on to say that the device would also make sexual offenders less likely to act.
The Superintendent was speaking at the closing ceremony of the sexual offences investigation course.
The three week course, which was attended by eighteen regional police officers, was hosted by the Regional Police Training Centre.
