Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame will get the summer movie season off to an early start at the end of April, with the superhero blockbuster already tracking for a massive debut.
New box office tracking numbers put Avengers: Endgame’s three-day box office debut between $200 million and $250 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While even the high end of those projections put it just short of Avengers: Infinity War’s opening weekend record of $257.6 million last April, it’s still possible that the film could break the record.
When the first tracking numbers for Avengers: Infinity War surfaced last year, it was estimating a debut between $185 million and $225 million long before its actual $257.6 million debut.
Its global opening weekend was another record, $640.5 million, and Avengers: Endgame may be able to easily surpass that tally as well.
Some box office analysts believe Avengers: Endgame could premiere between $750 million and $800 million worldwide, thanks to its Chinese debut.
Avengers: Infinity War didn’t open in China until May 11, a few weeks after its domestic debut, but Avengers: Endgame opens April 24, two days ahead of its domestic debut on April 26.
