Two men, one an accountant with the Central Bank of Barbados who were held over the weekend after lawmen intercepted a van in which they were travelling and drugs discovered are to face the law courts.
Corrie Randolph Walkes, 36, of Apartment Number Three, 3 Lot 263 Lowlands Park, Christ Church and Dale Orlando Nicholls, 33, of Roncliffville, Scotts Terrace, Grazettes, St Michael were charged with drug trafficking and other drugs related charges.
Police say the drugs were found a duffle bag containing three packages of cannabis with an estimated street value of 30 thousand dollars.
Nicholls is facing another three similar charges in relation to 158 pounds of marijuana with a street value of 316 thousand dollars.
Officers are alleging that the drugs – 20 packages of cannabis were found following the execution of a search warrant at an apartment occupied by Nicholls.
