Almost two weeks after the gun amnesty ended, police made their first arrests for gun possession when two Christ Church men were held over the weekend.
Twenty-five year old Adeem Antone Millington of Ashby Land, Oistins and 22 year old Dario David Akeem Cox of Lodge Road were charged for each having a firearm in their possession, as well as 10 and six rounds of ammunition respectively.
They were not required to plead to the indictable gun and ammunition charges and were remanded to prison by Magistrate Ian Weekes.
Cox was also charged with three counts of assaulting police in the execution of duty. He pleaded not guilty.
They will return to court on May 23rd.
Millington and Cox were held when police intercepted and searched a car in Turner’s Hall, St. Andrew.
