The Barbados Labour Party is weeks away from celebrating its first anniversary in office.
And Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says it has not been an easy road but there is much to celebrate and the party plans to do this in a major way on May 24th .
She says they have been able to get the south coast sewage treatment facility functioning properly again and have restored free tuition at the the university of the west indies, among several other achievements.
Speaking during the party annual founders day picnic on the Ermie Bourne Highway on Monday, Ms. Mottley says despite the naysayers and detractors , they have been able to stabilise the economy; confidence has returned and investors are once again keen.
It was also announced that a statue will be erected at Barclays Park in St. Andrew in memory of the first woman to serve as a member of Parliament in Barbados.

She says the future statue of the late Ermie Bourne will serve as a reminder to thousands of young women across the island, that they too can reach high office.
