The 7th CARICOM-Cuba Summit is to be held in Cuba, in the year 2020.
Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade recently met in Guyana for the
6th Summit.
The ministers committed to completing the required internal legal procedures to
give effect to the Second Protocol to the Agreement on Trade and Economic
Cooperation, which will contribute to the strengthening of trade relations.
They welcomed news Barbados will be hosting the United Nations Conference for
Trade and Development in the year 2020 –
which will be the first time an UNCTAD
quadrennial conference has been held in a Caribbean country.
Caricom and Cuba also reaffirmed the need to continue strengthening cooperation
and exchange of experiences and good practices in the area of integrated disaster
risk management in the Caribbean.
