Work stoppage at Massy

The Barbados Workers Union has come out in full support of the more than 30 employees from the Massy Distribution Warehouse at Spring Garden, St Michael who walked off the job Tuesday morning.

BWU General Secretary Senator Toni Moore says the work stoppage was a consequence of a number of matters and was not only wage related.

This followed a meeting with Massy Distribution management at Solidarity House earlier in the day where BWU officials were trying to resolve the worker’s grievances.

Senator Moore notes that in light of the grievances expressed by the workers and with the hopes of having a speedy resolution, the union is hoping to have a meeting with Massy’s management on Wednesday.
