Minister in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance, Peter Phillips, says people with disabilities should find it easier to get around when the Transport Board receives its fleet of electric buses.
The minister notes that the Board currently has about two units which are used specifically to transport members of the travelling public with disabilities.
But that number is expected to rise with the acquisition of new buses.
Minister Phillips made the announcement during the launch of a new Disability Parking Permit.
Unlike the previous permit, the new one will be issued by the Barbados Council for the Disabled, in conjunction with the Barbados Licensing Authority.
