King Classic collects money at Courtesy

The one song format for the Pic O De Crop competition has the full support of calypso king William ‘Classic’ Waithe, but he wants back the semifinal leg of the competition which was missing this year.

Classic was speaking to the media as he collected his winnings in the form of a 100 thousand dollar cheque from the National Cultural Foundation.

The presentation was held at Courtesy Garage, sponsors of the show.  The calypsonians had the option this year of a Nissan X Trail sponsored by Courtesy or the cash.

While he’s thankful to have had the choice, Classic doesn’t think this format is the best option.
