Others in the region are bracing for the impact of Tropical Storm Dorian.
Although the storm has weakened some, a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for St. Lucia, Martinique, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
St. Lucia has been under a total shutdown since 6:00 p.m. yesterday, and this will remain in effect until the storm passes.
Meanwhile, the islands under a Tropical Storm Watch include Grenada and Dominica, which is still recovering from 2017’s Hurricane Maria.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says government has been putting measures in place to ensure the safety of citizens.
He advised citizens to ensure they have enough food supplies and other essential items to ride out the storm.
Prime Minister Skerritt, however, noted there was no need to panic.
