Age 101, also known as “Darnley Cox”, of Salters, St. George and Haggatt Hall St. Michael. Member of the St. George Anglican Church Men’s Fellowship.

Son of the late Keturah Gittens.  

Beloved husband of Lillian Gittens – former Captain of the St. George Anglican Church Army.

Father of Vivienne St. Hill of Canada.

Stepfather of Clarence Carter.

Grandfather of Valerie Warren, Andrea St. Hill-Moore, Marilyn St. Hill, Sharolyn Rudder, Betty Howell, Fernando Carter, Donna Weekes and Kim Griffith.

Great-grandfather of many.

Brother of the late Ruby Vaughan, Clyde and Christopher “Freddie” Gittens.

Uncle of Elaine, Hazel, Marcelle, Arlene, Joyce, Trevor, Chris, Denzil and the late Ricardo Gittens and many others.

Father-in-Law of Geddes St. Hill.

Brother-in-law of Leotta Gittens, the late Reginald “Daddy” Carter and Muriel Millar. Relative of Erlita Trotman, the Murray, Green, Cox and Stuart families.

Friend of Esther St. Hill-Campbell, Stephen Howell, Marva Green, the Holder, Beckles and Millar families.

The funeral of Joseph Nathaniel Gittens leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Friday, September 06th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. for St. George Parish Church, The Glebe, St. George where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. for the service, followed by the interment in the churchyard.

The Organist, members of the Church Choir and Men’s Fellowship are asked to attend.

Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home no later than 1:00 p.m.

on Friday, September 06th, 2019.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 05th, 2019.
