Come November a select group of local dancers will get the opportunity to showcase their skills on the international stage.
Six of them have been selected to perform with the Brooklynettes, the official dancers for the Brooklyn Nets NBA basketball team.
It’s the second time a group of dancers will do so, following the first batch, which had the opportunity this past April.
According to the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc’s Senior Business Development Manager, Eusi Skeete, it’s all part of a constantly evolving partnership between the BTMI and the team.
The dancers were selected following an intense two day audition, which saw a group of 30 hopefuls whittled down to 16, before the final 6 were chosen.
Those six are Ghelisa Mayers, E-Shay Blackett, Cherish Hobbs, Amari Clarke, Christianna McConney and Shari Pollard, who says she was shocked to be chosen.
