Tropical Storm Karen brought flooded streets, downed trees and power outages to the island of Tobago on Sunday morning.
Heavy flooding was reported in Scarborough and South Western Tobago, according to the Tobago Emergency Management Agency’s Facebook page.
The agency also said people were trapped in flooded homes. Reports said seven people were trapped on the second floor of a flooded home in Lowlands, and a family of four was trapped inside their house in Rockley Vale.
Seven boats sank after the Plymouth Jetty broke, according to TEMA.
A landslide closed a road in Mason Hall and several other roads were blocked by fallen trees.
An overflowing river threatened a home in Darrell Spring. TEMA said the house was in danger of falling into the river.
Tropical Storm Karen formed Sunday morning and passed just north of Trinidad and Tobago.
