The Ministry of Elder Affairs has expressed concern about the number of elderly people across Barbados who continue to be ill-treated.
Minister Cynthia Forde made her feelings known at an award ceremony to mark Global 4-H day.
Minister Forde noted that it’s happening because young people have lost the moral moorings that have guided Barbados over the years.
Minister Forde encouraged parents to take part in activities put on by the organizations to which their children belong.
She’s also worried that strong male presence is missing in Barbados.
According to her, most social organizations like the Boy Scouts and others are dominated by women in leadership positions.
