A new dress code, coupled with a code of conduct has been recommended for fisherfolk operating in the Berinda Cox Fish Market at Oistins Christ Church.
Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, Kirk Humphrey agrees the fisherfolk are integral to the tourism industry and the way business is done must reflect the standards of the market and values of Barbados.
He was speaking at the reopening of the Berinda Cox Fish Market following the completion of work on its stalls and floor.
Minister Humphrey highlighted the area of security at the market as well as stall fees.
Christ Church South MP, Ralph Thorne thanked the Minister for his commitment to improving the conditions for fisherfolk.
