PAC continues probe

A former Transport Board employee has blamed the unavailability of parts as one of the reasons why buses did not receive regular maintenance.

Sylvan Codrington, a Quality Assurance Manager with the state-run agency up until December 2018, was giving evidence before members the Public Accounts Committee.

In response to a question from Senator Lisa Cummins on the deviation away from the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedules, Mr. Codrington says it was a matter of sourcing parts.

On the point of payment to the Board’s service providers, committee member Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Marsha Caddle, highlighted a lack of proper procedure in ensuring required maintenance was completed before invoices were paid.
