Barbados, as it rolls out its medical marijuana sector, will be working with farmers ensuring the same mistakes are not made similar to those made with the sugar industry and other primary commodities across the world.
That assurance from Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, in response to a question during the Ideas Forum from a young farmer interested in growing marijuana legally.
Ms Mottley is already preparing for the estimates, noting she has met with ministers, including the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
It was revealed at the Ideas Forum that new production targets for ground provisions and vegetables have been set.
Meanwhile, Barbadians from various cross sections of society shared with Ms Mottley their ideas with some suggesting meetings with the relevant Ministers and the Prime Minister.
