Despite their best efforts, members of the close knit district of Brathwaite’s Gap, Daryll’s Road were not able to save the home of one of their neighbours.
But they’re willing to do whatever it takes to help the family get back on its feet.
The family of three, 50-year-old Julia Cadogan and her two sons 26 year old Damien and 27 year old Ramon, lost their home and all their possessions when fire ripped through Thursday afternoon.
None of the three was willing to talk to CBC when we visited but one of the good Samaritans, Anthony Miller recounted what happened after his step daughter alerted him about the fire.
And explaining what prompted his actions, Shawn Grosvenor said as neighbours for more than 40 years, they’ve now become family.
