Setback for roll out of free wifi in city

Government’s plan to introduce free Internet access and computer-controlled parking in Bridgetown has suffered a setback.

Confirmation of this from Director of the Data Processing Unit in the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, Rodney Taylor.

He says the initial phase of the ‘Smart Bridgetown’ project involves the roll-out of free public wifi from the Bridgetown Port to Independence Square.

However Mr. Taylor says there was a delay with the tendering process.
