2019 was a tough year for one of the largest suppliers of fresh and frozen fish and seafood in Barbados.
According to Managing Director of Ocean Fisheries Limited, Frank Jordan, sales were down but he is optimistic things will improve.
Mr. Jordan says he understands the austerity measures taken are necessary to get the economy on a much stronger footing and looks forward to people being able to spend like they used to.
Mr. Jordan says another concern at this time is that about 85 percent of the fish being sold is caught in regional waters.
He says the seas around Barbados are simply not producing the fish.
