The coronavirus, now referred to as covid-19 has been a major talking point with the Caribbean Public Health Agency making a presentation to the heads of governments.
Speaking after Tuesday’s presentation, Executive Director, Dr Joy St John confirmed the Caribbean has managed to keep the virus at bay.
She says there have not been any confirmed cases and countries continue to put preventative measures in place.
Dr St John adds that CARPHA is supporting member states with testing and PAHO has given support to eight islands.
The Carpha head says they remain extremely concerned about the fake news that surrounds the virus, adding that the heads have mandated a covid-19 communications plan.
