C O Williams workers off the job

Some 200 employees of C O Williams construction remain off the job Tuesday, protesting what they say is a lack of wage increases.

On Monday, their representative, the Barbados Workers Union, indicated that it was open to dialogue with the company to resolve the issue.

CBC has just been informed the BWU and the company were called to the Labour Department for a meeting at 2 Tuesday afternoon to be chaired by officials from the department.

On Monday when he spoke on the issue, Deputy General Secretary of the BWU Dwaine Paul said the workers feel as though their trust has been breached.
