Increased yield from sugar harvest expected

The Portvale sugar factor is projected to produce over ninety thousand tonnes of sugar for the 2020 cane harvest.

Word of this from Operation Manager Michael Armstrong.

He notes that despite a rocky start to the sugar cane harvesting season, this year’s crop is projected to yield substantially higher in comparison to last season.

Mr. Armstrong says 14 new tilting bins have been imported from Guatemala at a cost of 2.2 million with the hopes of improving operational efficiency.
