Workers at Cost-U-Less to receive pay increase

A number of Barbadian workers at local food distributor Cost-U-Less are to receive an increase in pay.

This as workers at various stores across the island continue to work tirelessly to ensure Barbadians have access to a range of goods in response to the Coronavirus threat.

In an online statement, Cost-U-Less announced that globally, its hourly employees will be rewarded with a two dollars per hour increase for all hours worked between March 8th and April 14th.

The company said it is eternally grateful for the dedication of its staff during these trying times.

President of North West Company International which owns Cost-U-Less Dan McConnel says that they are proud of the enterprising efforts of the employees and stores in their supply chain.

He says the employees have ensured a continuous and unencumbered supply of food and general merchandise, and they’re delighted to provide the wage increase to thank them for their efforts.
