11+ postponed

The Ministry of Education has announced a postponement of the 2020 Eleven plus exam.

The Ministry stated that due to the recent declaration regarding the national status of Covid-19 and the restrictions that have been imposed, steps have been taken to safeguard the health and well-being of stakeholders in education.

Officials say the Eleven Plus, as it is commonly known, will now be postponed until June second however, this will depend on the trinity term commencing on April 14th.

Ministry officials tell CBC NEWS there will be a number of amendments to the examinations schedules of the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination as well as the Caribbean Examinations Council or CXC.
