More businesses open in Barbados

Monday, May 18th marked the first business day for several establishments across the island, since the national lockdown triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic started in March.

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley last week announced an ease in the restrictions to facilitate economic activity.

On Monday morning, furniture and appliance stores, book stores, cottage industries, barbers shops and salons were open.

Confectionary Artist, Yvette Brathwaite, owner of Vette’s Preservatives which specializes in tamarind balls, nutcakes and other local sweets, is pleased to be given the nod to operate.
