Predictions of an active hurricane season

This year’s Atlantic hurricane season is predicted to be more active than usual.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s official forecast, there will be 13 to 19 named tropical storms and six to 10 hurricanes, including three to six major hurricanes.

This range suggests activity that will be above normal to extremely active.

The hurricane season begins June 1st and runs through November.

Tropical Storm Arthur, the season’s first named storm, brushed parts of the US Southeast coast last week.
