Artistes urged to produce beyond Crop Over festival

Artistes and those in the music business in Barbados are being told to look beyond producing music for a crop festival.

Veteran entertainer and CEO of Red Head Records, Anderson’ Mr.Blood’ Armstrong says this is the only way artistes can survive especially in light of the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He says there is absolutely no income from live performances at this time and artistes need to look at making money in a more serious way from their music.

Barbados’ Cultural Ambassador Stedson ‘Red Plastic Bag’ Whiltshire agreed, saying there is still too much jam and wine in the music and artistes need to focus on the topics in their songs.
