Rain delays start of first Test at Ageas Bowl

Persistent drizzles have delayed the toss on the opening morning of the historic first Test between West Indies and England on Wednesday.

Players and officials have been kept from the field by the adverse weather which has also brought chilly temperatures of below 20 degrees Celsius.

Play was expected to get underway at 11 am (6 am Eastern Caribbean time) but is now be delayed.

The Ageas Bowl is the venue for the first Test of cricket’s first-ever “bio-secure” series, played amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Old Trafford in Manchester will be the stage for the second and third Tests later this month.
