Female champion driver ready for action

Round two of the Barbados Rally Club’s autocross will be contested at Bushy Park next week and a full slate of drivers are expected to face the starter.

Defending female champion driver Cheryl-Ann Hurley will be among the starters and she says she is up to the challenge of defending the title this season, but is calling on other females to come out and get into the sport.

The defending champion, who lost one of her mechanics, Clifton Pilgrim last month, told motoring correspondent Trevor Thorpe that his loss from her technical team is why she will be facing the starter, but she admitted that it is going to be tough defending the title this year.
