Moore disputes charge of letting workers down

The Barbados Labour Party’s nominee for St. George North, Toni Moore, is disputing suggestions she let down workers by accepting only a five per cent salary increase for public servants in 2018.

Speaking as the BLP held a meeting in Golden Ridge village, St. George, she said the increase was the result of years of effort.

Ms. Moore says while 15 per cent was initially requested following a policy decision by the executive council of the union, considering the economic difficulties the country was experiencing at the time, the percentage was adjusted.
