Monitoring unit pulls PSV off the road

A public service vehicle has been ordered off the road for a week for breaching the COVID-19 protocols.

This was confirmed by the Head of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, during a telephone interview with CBC News.

Mr. Chapman says the violations observed by an officer of the unit included a failure by the operators and some passengers to wear masks.

The van was also over its maximum capacity for the number of passengers allowed on board during this COVID period.

Mr. Chapman reveals a warning from the officer was subsequently ignored by the minivan’s driver and conductor.
